WriteMentor Summer 2020
I am happy to announce that I will be mentoring on this summer’s WriteMentor programme. See link below.
Here’s a bit about me and what I’m looking for in a submission from potential mentees. See my ABOUT page for more information.
I am represented by Laura West at David Highams Associates. I am currently editing two manuscripts with Laura with a view to going out on submission. My first novel, a contemporary dark upper age YA love story, was inspired by my family connection to the East coast of America and longlisted for the Chicken House Children’s Novel Competition 2016. I am working on a second novel, a family drama, also set in America, and longlisted for the Mslexia Novel Competition 2018 and the Mslexia Children’s Novel Award in 2019.
I have an MA (Distinction) from Bath Spa University on the Writing for Young People course, during which time I learned to critique work in a thoughtful and supportive manner. I have also participated in critique groups in London, including at City Lit, and supported other published and unpublished writer friends with one to one feedback on their WIPs.
I enjoy giving and receiving feedback, have been helped by mentoring in the past and would like to give back. I am looking for a submission package/partial, synopsis and up to 10,000 words, contemporary YA or MG mystery, but open minded.
Best of luck to all!
